Ireland (6-13-2006) (110 images)
Ireland is absolutely beautiful. I'm going to retire here someday. These are pics of us on the sea coast along the Dingle Penninsula (An Dangean in Gaelic, and no, it does not sound like it reads...Gaelic is a crazy-hard language to learn...roman alphabet w/ a few added accents and such, but very different sounds than are typically attributed to the letters). The Gap of Dunloe currently ranks #1 on my coolest places ever visited in the world list. The area is like a snapshot out of the Lord of the Rings. Incredibly beautiful, rugged, remote, and relatively untravelled compared to other places. There was this retarded goat that kept "baaaaa"ing at me...I false-charged him and he jumped, huffed at me, and started "baaaa"ing again, and pounded his feet. Crazy "wild" goats and sheep everywhere in this country. I think people shepard them some, but they just seem to roam a lot. There are VERY old rock wall/fences all over the place that were built many hundreds of years ago. Also a very old fort that we found (see the pic of the document from the display case).
